I'll be honest, i'm not really a breakfast person ...... but it seems to be the topic of many a conversation as people argue over where to find the 'holy grail', that is, the perfect breakfast.

Anyway, over the last few days i've been up relatively early and set out in my own personal 'crusade' .... feel free to add your own recommendations or comments though.

The Freedom Bar

I went for the Full European Breakfast, though to be honest it was unlike any breakfast i've ever had before.

What's included?

2 slices of cheese
2 slices of ham
2 slices of bacon
sliced (uncooked) tomato
sliced onion
1 German Sausage
2 slices of Toast (or a Baguette)
1 Coffee or Tea

Cost = 3.75 dollars

Service, as usual, pretty hit and miss.

Best in town? ...... no way, but considering that a coffee is 1dollar .. the price is very good.

The Brittania Bar

I've never visited this 'Brit Owned' and decidely 'British Bar' before. Mainly because I generally don't bother with anywhere that is 'proud' to display St Georges Flags and Photo's of the Royal Family. Considering the current state of Britain, i'm not particularly proud to be British. Maybe i'd still live there if I was.

Anyway, I'd heard the Breakfast being recommended, so ....

I requested the Large Breakfast and after some translation issues, it arrived and included.

2 eggs
2 slices of bacon
3 (small) sausages
portion of (heinz?) beans
fried tomato
2 slices of toast
1 coffee or tea

Cost = 5.25 dollars

Service = prompt, but indifferent.

Best in town? ...... I sure hope not.

Too be fair, the bacon was good, the eggs were pretty much perfect, but the sausages left a little to be desired. The portion of beans was very small too.

He takes it seriously, but he has a kid with a local girl so we can all take it with
a pinch of salt.

Travellers Rest is still going, but i've not got around to trying the full breakfast yet. I know the price is 5.25 though, which does kind of raise the expectations a little.

Never met Mark, but I know he's popular with many of the guys around town. Maybe it's just a personal thing, but like I said, i'm uncomfortable with excessive displays of 'Britishness' ....... and as a 'Marketing Plan', I think it serverely restricts your business.

Then again, doesn't seem to harm the German businesses in town!

Hi folks, my first post but I have sampled a lot of Snooky b/fasts.
There are 2 equal firsts in my book. This is from my recent trip which ended last week (boo hoo!!!), just how pleased am I to be home?Huh??

German bakery, about 100 metres south off Ekamai, downtown.
For about $3.75 you get egg, cooked meats, good coffee and delicious bread + jam & butter. Good service.
Big choice of takeaway foods too.

Coffee Bubble tea shop is the other number one for me. It is on Ekamai going toward the Lions from downtown, just before the road takes the sharp right bend.
What do you get, well full English including mushrooms, bacon, egg, beans, tomatoes, and an un-English hash brownie.
Search through the picture menu and point, the Cambos there don't speak much English. Coffee is extra but as I recall, the bill was about $4 all up. Good Cambo filter type coffee. This is part of a Cambo chain and has an open eating area like all resterants but it also has little cubicals where you can be a little sweet with your honey. This is apparently cambo romantic as each cubical is equipped with a small TV.

Have fun all you lucky people still in Snooky

This is a brilliant topic!  My friend and I are making the journey from South Korea in a few days.  This information really is exciting to read.  Thanks. Wink

Not too sure about 'exciting' but a good breakfast certainly sets you up for the rest of the days activities which can be found in Sihanoukville Smiley

Maybe i'll bump into you two around town for a beer or three.
