Tony
You should see a doctor if you are concerned about your health. Run some tests etc.
Should stop smoking if you smoke.
Clean sea air - like Snooky. Have a short break by the coast away from big city smog.
Reluctant to name an antibiotic for you as I am not a Dr. Unethical and public site.
Best wishes.

I agree 100%.  You can buy (very expensive) pills at health stores, but plain old yoghurt does as good a job on the cheap.  Don't know how much it costs in Cambodia, but it's so easy to make your own - even I can do it.

Would eating Yoghurt regularly, increase the good bacteria to the point where it might ward off some bad bacteria and lessen the chances of food poisoning etc?

OK, a whole industry has grown up with this healthy eating theme.
There is VERY little evidence that the body needs to eat special foods to replace zapped bacteria after antibiotic treatment. Essentially a version of snake oil, eat good bacteria to balance everything up. Healthy body will do it itself.
Cheers

You've shattered my illusions.  I always thought yoghurt was good for your guts.  I like it too much to stop consuming huge amounts though, especially with a bit of cold mashed potato to thicken it up, a touch of salt and lemon juice and far too much garlic for socialising mixed in.  Best salad dressing ever.  And on a home made kebab............

Huh, so did i. I just came off a 2 month stint on antibiotics and both the doc and pharmacist told me to eat yoghurt. I thought i would hate the stuff but it wasn't half bad.

Glad I found this thread again to thank Happyman for literally saving my ass. I had taken a note of the antis he said, and bought them from a pharmacy a few days into my last trip. I bought them just in time. A few hours later, my guts were cramping and I was stuck in the karzi. There's no way I could have left the GH to go anywhere, so his advice saved a real dilemma.  Thanks Happyman. I owe you

It was last October. I couldn't remember the thread to thank you before. I was meant to go to Snooky, but cancelled due to being wary of spending too long away from a toilet on the taxi ride :0 I think it was grub I ate at the Lakeside. That lovely place with eh, no lake :wall: Never trust those tourist booklets lying around in GHs
