This info was kindly provided to me by Mick the British Honourary Consul. I added the bits at the bottom re some other countries. As we wardens often get these sort of queries when an incident arises, I thought it may be of some use.

EU Consular cooperation in Phnom Penh

EU nations represented by Germany

Austria Estonia Romania Slovakia
Hungary Portugal Slovenia

EU nations represented by France

Finland Luxemburg Greece Latvia
Italy Poland Spain

EU nations represented by Great Britain* (N.B. The British Embassy cannot issue travel documents for EU
nationals)

Cyprus Czech Republic Lithuania
Ireland Malta Netherlands
Sweden

Bulgaria has an Embassy in Phnom Penh. Belgium is represented by an Honorary Consul. Danish, Norvegian and Icelandic nationals can approach the DANIDA office for assistance.

The Aussie Consulate, therefore me down here, represent Australians and Canadians. The USA Consulate represents just their citizens. (Roy and Pat down here).

*nb: I am almost certain that the Brits also represent New Zealanders as well. (Someone has to )

Cheers Lemons.

Guys, a clarification.

English Mark, ex-corner bar, is a warden like me. A lowly volunteer. Duncan from Monkey Republic is also a warden for the Brits.

Roy and Patrick are likewise for the Americans.

Mick from ANA Travel however is the recently appointed British Honorary Consul. Used to be Maggie from M'lop Tapang, but she just got too busy with her NGO work.

Mick has a much more senior role than us wardens, and just returned from 1 or 2 weeks training in London. He can explain his duties a lot better than me.

Only GB, the Frogs and the Scandinavians have Honorary Consuls down here. The rest make do with retards like me.

Now here's a twist. The frogs look after the Krauts, via their H Consul, but only in Sihanoukville????? To add another layer of wtf, there is also a German warden down here, but he only looks after Germans and the other nations on the German list above - not Frogs. It's Jack the butcher/baker btw. How those 2 nations managed a deal as confusing as that is beyond me.

Anyway it doesn't seem to matter. The Sangkat 4 police boss has it welded into his pea brain that every barung who passes away in this town is Australian. So far this week, 2 ungodly hour calls. Ok, the one for Ken I was happy to be able to set him straight quickly, but the Pole on the beach? Give me a break!!!

Yes they do.

Also you will probably find that the UK embassy represents most commonwealth countries that do not have their own dipllomatic representation, (this includes the nigerians who regularly get arrested in PP).

cheers

No Tony,

but I am not copying and pasting someone elses writing/article and not giving them credit for it.

If I know something for certain, I will state it as a fact.

If I am not sure I will preface a statment with somethin like.. I believe, I think .... or I think you will find...

I do not like misleading people with erroneous fact when in reality it is conjecture or flawed reasoning.

get over it.
