Hi Casper...left you a couple of messages, on 'sihanoukville online' via "contact us" and earlier today(11/28) in the form of a comment on your latest "roadtrip" blog as a way to express thx for your entertaining and newsy blogs.Flying out of New York Dec 10th into Bangkok(airport demonstrations/sit-in???....lol)assuming the Thai government is able to wrest control of the airport back from the malcontents currently in charge there! Would expect to be in 'snooky' in and around the 14th.I again extend an invitation to a beer or a meal( or both lol)as a way to thank you for a great inside look into whats going on there.Also...if you could kindly recommend a guesthouse near the bus station for the first few nights...inexpensive ($10-$15 a nite?),safe and clean,I would greatly appreciate it.I thank you in advance for any advice in that regard!  See you in "snookyville".          Best regards , "miami vice" (Christian)

Hi Christian, thanks for you comments :)

Certainly the easiest guesthouse to find will be the Freedom Bar, you can see it directly opposite the bus station ..... about 20 yards from the exit.

Rooms are clean, but very basic and range from 7 dollars to 15. At the very least it'll give you a base from where to get your bearings. Plus, the beers cheap and they have food ..... on the negative side, i'm there just about everyday!

Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi Casper !! Thank you kindly for your reply! Will take your recommendation of Freedom Bar under advisement...also will check out Kangaroo Kitchen based on your positive comments I found on an earlier post.Whichever I chose I'll be sure to tell them that I'm staying there as a result of your endorsement.Looking forward to hanging out!! Expect to be there no later than 13th...14th the latest.  Thx again....'be easy' bro.    Best regards, Christian (miami vice)

My vote would be for the KKitchen you really dont want to take different girls from the place where you stay,
it might get messy.
About arrival dates I fly into BKK january 7 [i hope]   still cant decide ,go to pattaya first,or BKK first, then overland to snooky,or fly direct toPP then snooky.
Gonna make up my mind as late as possible it all depends if and when the airport in BKK is cleared and then its gonna be a week before they have got it
checked and ready to take flights.
The kings adress that he always gives on his birthday 5dec should decide it.if he asks them to vacate the airport they will without loss of face.
Also the Euro-$-baht exchange rate may decide it for me.

Welcome to the forum Dr Mick, glad you managed to find us here :)

Yes, Snooky is coming on nicely, more than enough to keep just about everybody happy. As green malaka says, the beaches here are great, food is cheap enough if you know where to go and the beer flows 24hours a day at crazy prices, lol.

Be great to meet up with you again, looking forward to it.

Great deal on the flights :)

I have to say, have your wits about you if you're spending a couple of nights in Phnom Penh, the nightlife there can be a little dodgy to say the least. As you say, have a word with Bob for a little advice.

As for 'falling in love' ...... never say never!

Sure i'll be around Dr Mick, be great to have both you and Bob in town.

Can't remember where Bob stayed now, may have been the Golden Sands, plenty of places around though.

Click on the Hotels Combined banners at view a few hotels in Snooky, the Kangaroo Kitchen is very reasonable and centrally located.
