Some pics on the trip to Bokor this past week. The road from Veal Reng to Bokor is potholed/rutted in large sections. Still not bad for Cambodia,, but the lack of maintenance over the past 3 yrs is evident - it was new then.

It's a very good international standard two lane road up Bokor Mountain. Main hazard remains Khrazy Khmer drivers and rockfalls. A lot of work is continuing to prevent rocks falling but I don't think they'll win over the monsoon. Just past the casino we had to turn back coz of zero vis in cloud.

They've got a promo at the casino at the moment - $50/nt double w breakfast. The buffet is free with $30 of chips (the gambling variety) or $9.90 pp. Not bad too.

Thanks for the up to date pics....looks like there is a major casino culture being built up

The biggest investments around seem to center on gambling ....

The worst road is an understatement.

It was basically a riverbed up and down a hill.

I rode up it about 3 or 4 times from 2001 to 2007 and swore I would never do it again.

Mind you another part of rough old Cambodia has been destroyed.
