I have recommended a number of friends visiting Sihanoukville, to stay at the Beach Club Resort down near Ochheuteal Beach, the reviews have been consistant in their praise.

Everything from the $4.50 “all you can eat” breakfast buffet, to the ‘candle-lit’ Pool side tables during the evening have come in for a discussion, not to mention the fact that every room has free WiFi and it’s own Digital ‘Safe’.

Anyway, I decided to call down and take a closer look for myself.

I’ve always recommended the Beach Club simply because of the excellent location, being only a short walk from Ochheuteal Beach as it is, however the wide range of nearby restaurants is certainly an extra bonus. Everything from a ‘Happy Pizza’ to ‘Coca-Cola Ribs’, not to mention some very tasty Khmer food can be had in the immediate vicinity.

That said, the Beach Club offers a very attractive menu of their own with a selection of Appetizers, Burgers, Baguettes, Salads, Pasta, Pizza, Western and Asian Main Courses. Meals to suit everyone’s budget and taste. Sadly though, we had already eaten so couldn’t sample the food, but I can certainly vouch for the ‘cold beers’ and friendly service!

The bar itself is open plan, with comfortable seating both inside and out, there is also the option to enjoy your cocktails (great selection) around the pool. Oil lamps flicker at the tables and the cushioned seating / relaxation areas are very novel but in keeping with the general ‘laid back’ feel of the place.

I enquired about the room prices and was informed of the various options, Standard, Superior and Family Rooms are available at prices ranging from $25 – $65 dollars, dependent on High / Low Season and proximity to the Swimming Pool. The rooms are all pretty spacious, but the Family Rooms can only be described as ‘cavernous’!

If you’re looking for relaxing Hotel with all the usual facilities, that’s near to all the attractions, you really should consider the Beach Club Resort. Highly Recommended.
