Angkor Brewery Tour جولة انكور بروري

The local Brewery (’Cambrew Ltd’, part of the Carlsberg Group), who supply Angkor, Heineken, Asahi and Klang Beers (amongst others), open their door to visitors every Wednesday from 3pm til 5pm, and after many failed attempts to pay a visit to the Angkor Brewery here in Sihanoukville, I eventually ‘took the tour’ on wednesday this week. بروري المحلي ( 'cambrew المحدوده' ، جزءا من مجموعة carlsberg) ، والعرض من انغكور ، هاينكن اساهي كلانغ وبيرز) وغيرها) ، وفتح الباب للزوار من كل 3pm سمسم الاربعاء الساعة الخامسة مساء ، وبعد العديد من المحاولات الفاشله لدفع زيارة الى انغكور بروري هنا فى سيهانوك فيل ، وأنني في نهاية المطاف 'أتخذت جولة' يوم الاربعاء من هذا الاسبوع.
Even this occasion was a little of a gamble though, I spoke with another expat in the Freedom Bar and he reported that the Brewery Tour was closed down. وحتى في هذه المناسبه كان قليلا على الرغم من لعبة قمار ، تكلمت مع آخر نيدفاولا في حرية المحامين وأفاد ان جولة بروري وقد اغلقت. Possible due to the Elections this week. ونظرا لامكانيه اجراء الانتخابات هذا الاسبوع. Personally I couldn’t quite see the connection, but stranger things have proven true in this town. انا شخصيا لا يمكن ان يرى الصلة تماما ، ولكن الغريب امور اثبتت الحقيقي في هذه البلده.
Anyway, I decided to make the visit alone as I didn’t want gather up a few friends to make the journey only to find it a waste of time. على أي حال ، فانني قررت ان تجعل الزيارة التي قام بها وحدها وكما قلت لا تريد جمع ما يصل عدد قليل من الاصدقاء لجعل الرحله لم يجدوا سوى انها مضيعه للوقت.
I arrived at the Angkor Brewery gates a little after the official ’start-time’ of 3pm. وصلت إلى بوابات انكور بروري قليلا الرسمية بعد بدء تشغيل الوقت 'من 3pm. There were no signs that even mentioned the Tour and the Gate-Guards didn’t speak any English. ولم تظهر أي بوادر حتى الجولة المذكورة وحراس البوابه - اي لا يتكلم الانكليزيه. After struggling with a few questions they eventually picked up on two words …. بعد ان تكافح مع عدد قليل من الاسءله التي التقطت في نهاية المطاف على كلمتين…. ‘Free’ and ‘Beer’! 'الحرة' و 'البيرة'!
With this, they duly handed me a visitors ID badge and pointed me in the direction of an external spiral staircase which accessed one of the buildings. مع ذلك ، فهي على النحو الواجب سلم لي شارة هوية الزوار واشار لى فى اتجاه خارجي للدوامة التي سلم الوصول الى واحدة من المباني. Once inside, my search for ‘free Angkor beer’ faced another obstacle, around 15 doors none of which had any signs or ‘clues’. مرة واحدة الى الداخل ، والبحث عن بلادي 'انكور الجعه مجانا' وثمة عقبة اخرى تواجهها ، نحو 15 أيا من الأبواب التي قد أية علامات أو 'الادله'. After trying two which were locked, I noticed some hanging beer signs through the window of another room across the landing. بعد ان حاول اثنان منها مغلق ، لاحظت بعض علامات شنقا البيرة من خلال نافذة غرفة اخرى عبر الهبوط.
I’d arrived! أنا وصلت!
To my surprise and despite having seating for over 50 people, only two others were in the room. لدهشتي وعلى الرغم من الجلوس لاكثر من 50 شخصا ، الا اثنين اخرين كان فى القاعه. A couple who were on a year long tour of Asia, a English guy and his Icelandic Girlfriend. زوجان من كانوا في السنة في جولة طويلة من آسيا ، غي الانجليزيه والايسلندي صديقة له. Turns out they could drink pretty well and I actually had a little trouble keeping up with both of them. وتبين انها يمكن ان تشرب جميلة جيدا واشعر فعلا كان قليلا مشكلة التواصل مع كل منهما.
Around 30 or so minutes later, we were joined by an Aussie couple, but they weren’t actually here for the Angkor Beer, they honestly thought that it was a genuine ‘Tour’ of the Brewery. حوالى 30 دقيقة او نحو ذلك فى وقت لاحق ، انضم الينا Aussie احد الزوجين ، إلا أنها لم تكن في الواقع هنا لانكور الجعه ، وانها بصراحة يعتقد انه حقيقي 'جولة' من بروري. This was not to be and I explained that basically, all the tour entails is having access to free beer and drinking yourself stupid until either you pass out or run out of time! وهذا لا يكون وأوضحت أنه ، أساسا ، كل جولة هو ينطوي على امكانيه الوصول الحر الى نفسك شرب الجعه واما أغبياء حتى مررت بها او نفاد الوقت! After one beer, they left. البيرة بعد واحد ، وغادروا.
The three of us kept on drinking and, if I remember rightly, had around 8 or 9 glasses of extremely well chilled Angkor Beer, very nice. نحن الثلاثة للشرب ويحرص علي ، وانا اذكر بحق ، وكان حوالى 8 او 9 اكواب من انغكور مبرد جيد للغاية في البيرة ، لطيف جدا. The two waitresses never broke into a smile throughout the whole two hours, but I guess free beer and good service is too much to ask for. الاثنين باقتحام نادلات ابدا الابتسامه طوال ساعتين ، ولكن اعتقد الجعه مجانا والخدمة الجيدة هو اكثر من اللازم ان نسأل ل. So, despite the inbuilt urge to leave a tip, I managed to refrain. ذلك ، على الرغم من حث inbuilt ترك نصيحه ، تمكنت من الامتناع.
Sadly, we discovered that 5pm wasn’t ‘last orders’ it was time to leave as this is the time the entire brewery closes. وللأسف ، فقد اكتشفنا ان لم يكن الساعة الخامسة مساء 'اوامر الماضي' ان الوقت قد حان لاجازة هذا هو الوقت الذي يغلق بروري بأسره. Out into the harsh Cambodian sunlight we went. اصل الى اشعه الشمس القاسيه الكمبوديه ذهبنا.
On the whole there isn’t anything to see, it’s not really a ‘Tour’ in the true sense, it’s simply an opportunity to sample Angkor Beer for free. وعلى العموم ليس هناك اي شيء لترى انه ليس حقا 'جولة' فى بالمعنى الحقيقي ، انها مجرد فرصة لأخذ عينات من انغكور الجعه مجانا. With this in mind though, and considering the numbers of ‘Backpackers’ in town at the moment, I was shocked that only five people turned up. مع هذا في الاعتبار ومع ذلك ، وبالنظر الى اعداد 'رحل' في المدينة في الوقت الحاضر ، صدمت ان خمسة اشخاص فقط ظهر.
Seems that organising a “pi**-up in a brewery” isn’t as easy as you’d think! ويبدو ان تنظيم "بي في آ **- بروري" ليست سهلة كما كنت اعتقد!
